Twitter Account Coordinator
Job Type: Part-Time/Independent (Deliverable based)

The Green Connection (GC) is an environmental and social justice organization, striving for eco justice, community empowerment and resource advocacy. GC is running a ‘Who Stole Our Oceans’campaign, which aims to protect the ocean through opposing offshore oil and gas developments and informing coastal communities about the negative impacts of Operation Phakisa (specifically offshore oil and gas projects). Such as the nuclear deal that was stopped by civil society in 2017. The government’s drive on oil and gas appears to raise similar concerns.
Qualifications:
Digital Marketing, Advertising, Marketing or Communications & PR
Experience and Skills:
- Social media management skills.
- Experience working within the environmental or advocacy sector.
- Creating, managing, and posting regular content regarding the specified portfolio of organisation and current trends.
- Self-disciplined and motivated, with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication and networking skills.
- Proactive with excellent time management skills. Problem-solving and adaptability skills.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement and manage Twitter strategy.
- Create, preplan, post, retweet and manage regular content regarding the campaign and topics relevant to the campaign.
- Create opportunities to grow campaign within trending topics.
- Initiate fresh, creative and innovative ideas and approaches.
- Manage and oversee Twitter content for client database.
- Stay up to date with the latest Twitter practices.
- Be on the lookout for trending advocacy topics and activities.
- Build networks to grow the organisation’s campaign.
- Create opportunities of awareness and engagement of the organisation’s campaign on Twitter.
Preferred Background
Worked in the environmental activism sector.
