Lemonade Finance (YC S21 (https://techcrunch.com/2021/08/31/this-yc-summer-batch-features-the-largest-group-of-african-startups-yet/)) is building the neobank for African diaspora in North America & Europe. We provide our users with a multi-currency account that allows them to hold, send, and receive money from Africa in any currency for their business and personal banking needs.
There are over 10 million Africans living in North America & Europe who go through hoops and have to pay exorbitant fees to send money to their loved ones. We are constantly fighting for everyday Africans to be able to move their money freely around the world at no cost and with the best exchange rate they can find out there.
We launched the first version of the app at the beginning of October 2020 with just the ability to send money. Now, we enable our users to send and receive as well as pay bills for services across the ocean for loved ones. We have also grown to a team of more than 40 people working remotely and living in different continents around the world.
Job description
You will be the first point of contact and ultimately you will be working with our clients on a regular basis. So it's important you are approachable and ultimately love speaking to people and building relationships. As the front-line-employee, your role will be extremely important for improving customer experience and satisfaction.
You will:
- Keep front desk clean, tidy and supplied with all the necessary supplies
- Greet, communicate with and welcome guests
- Keep the office in order and report any maintenance issues to our facilities manager
- Keep all spaces in the office clean, tidy and ready for use (kitchen stocked up, conference rooms connected, workstations tidy, etc.)
- Answer all the customers' questions and address their complaints pointing them to the right person within the organization
- Answer all incoming calls and redirect them or keep messages where necessary
- Receive letters, packages and send them to appropriate destination
- Prepare and manage outgoing mail
- Check, sort and forward our shared info mail where general inquiries come into daily.
- Monitor office supplies
- Place supply orders when necessary
- Monitor and update records and files
- Monitor and log office expenses and costs
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience as Front Office Receptionist or similar role
- Knowledge of office machines (e.g. fax, printer, telephones, etc.)
- Knowledge of office management
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office
- Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company's success
- Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
